Syston's Annual Festive Fun Day (Sat 5th December)

First we must give apologies regarding Arriva Buses not taking the agreed diversion route during the Melton Road closure. Syston Town Council, Leicestershire County County and we thought Arriva Buses were all aware of the plan. Regrettably Arriva did not operate using the route of Goodes Lane, Pembrook Avenue and Barkby Road.
Despite the very wet weather Syston turned out in large numbers and the event was a great success. Over £300 was collected for SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airforcemen Families Association) this being the chosen charity for the Chairman of the Town Council Mr. Howard Midgley. Special thanks to all the Traders many of which entered the Best Dressed window competition.
